The Centre, set up under a donation from iFREE GROUP, comprises the Big Data Laboratory, the Virtual Reality Laboratory, and the Social Robotics & Digital Living Laboratory. The Centre is gradually in full operation and available for use for both staff and students.

Centre Objectives

1. To support the University’s Strategic Plan (2021-2025) to “reinvent the liberal arts education for the digital age”
2. To facilitate research and innovation and application development in entrepreneurial projects related to big data, virtual reality, augmented reality, social robotics, artificial intelligence, IoT, and user experience (UI/UX) research
3. To provide a multidisciplinary platform for scientists, researchers, and scholars to investigate the most recent innovations, trends, challenges, and future directions of digital transformation and e-society research with the support of social robots
4. To promote interaction among researchers with different research backgrounds related to the study of innovations, digital living, and social robot applications in social, psychological, business, economic, technological, and educational contexts
